Samsung is still providing the most recent security updates for its smartphones. The Galaxy S21 line has recently received the same update as the Galaxy S24, S23, and S22 lines, addressing various vulnerabilities in the operating system without introducing new features.
The Galaxy S21 line has received the June security update.
The June security update is being rolled out in stages to Galaxy S21, S21 Plus, and S21 Ultra owners in the US. If no major issues are found during the initial rollout, it will soon be available in other regions like Brazil.
This latest update, firmware version “G99xU1UESBGXF1”, addresses 59 security vulnerabilities, with 37 on Android and 22 on the Samsung interface. It is highly advised to install this update to prevent issues such as intrusion and data theft.
To update, go to “Settings > Software Update > Download and install” when the update is ready. It’s advised to have the phone connected to Wi-Fi and at least 50% battery before proceeding to prevent sudden shutdowns.
The Galaxy S21 series was updated with the One UI 6.1 in May, introducing various artificial intelligence features, although not all functions were included in these models.
