Netflix has raised its prices for the third time in under a year; check out the new costs.

Netflix unexpectedly raised subscription prices for its Brazilian customers for the third time in less than a year, with the latest increase of up to 12.5% announced without warning. The previous price adjustment in October had angered many subscribers in Brazil.

The updated rates for Netflix are:

  • Standard plan with advertisements: price increased from R$18.90 to R$20.90, marking a 10.6% rise.
  • Standard Plan pricing has risen by 12.5%, ranging from R$ 39.90 to R$ 44.90.
  • Premium Plan price increased by 7.1% from R$ 55.90 to R$ 59.90.

The Standard Plan saw the biggest impact with a 12.5% price increase to R$44.90 per month. This plan enables viewing on two HD screens simultaneously. The ad-supported Standard Plan also increased from R$18.90 to R$20.90, marking a 10.6% rise.

The most costly Netflix plan, the Premium Plan, has increased from R$ 55.90 to R$ 59.90, a 7.1% rise. It supports 4K UHD and enables viewing on four devices simultaneously, catering to users desiring superior image quality and multiple device options.

The most recent price update took place in October of the previous year, and this latest change shows how Netflix is evolving its business strategy by adjusting prices and making operational changes, such as canceling shows.

Netflix has not yet confirmed if the new prices will impact existing subscribers, and former customers are eagerly awaiting an official statement from the company.
