Samsung has confirmed the release of the Galaxy Ring.

Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy Ring, its latest wearable gadget, is set to launch in August 2024. This announcement comes after the company consulted legal experts to ensure a smooth release and avoid any potential delays. The Galaxy Ring was initially unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024, sparking considerable anticipation.

Samsung plans to release the Galaxy Ring in August.

Samsung sought protection from potential lawsuits by Oura, a smart ring manufacturer with a history of suing competitors for patent and intellectual property infringements, through an appeal to the U.S. District Court in California for a smooth release.

Oura holds multiple patents for key technologies in smart rings, such as built-in batteries, fitness trackers, and sensors. These patents could create challenges for Samsung’s Galaxy Ring launch, as reported by Bloomberg Law.

Samsung sought legal advice to prevent using technologies similar to Oura’s patents or to challenge the validity of these patents, which is a difficult and intricate task.

Samsung announced that production for the Galaxy Ring is set to begin in mid-June, along with the release date. This will lead to the unveiling of more information and technical specifications, raising consumer anticipation.
