ByteDance, the company responsible for TikTok, has revealed its latest venture in the social media sphere: Whee. This new platform, centered on “spontaneous content,” seeks to provide a distinctive user experience to rival Instagram by utilizing friends’ circles to view posts. Currently, Whee is not accessible for users in Brazil.
What is Whee?
Whee is a social media platform that aims to maintain connections among users and promote the sharing of everyday spontaneous moments with a select group of friends, unlike other platforms where content is accessible to a wider audience.
The screenshots displayed in the app stores reveal a design that closely resembles Instagram, featuring a feed displaying content from friends and a notifications section.

To utilize Whee, individuals must sign up and sign in with a TikTok account, indicating a strong connection between the two platforms. Along with sharing images and videos, Whee also enables users to engage in text chats with friends.
Availability of products or services
Whee is currently limited to specific countries. Although it is featured on the Play Store and the App Store, some users may encounter messages indicating that the social network is not compatible with their location. If needed, users can obtain and set up the Whee APK on Android devices through alternative download platforms.
Am I the first one to report this? Bytedance, the developer of Tiktok, is testing a new app called Whee. It’s currently not available in the US but it is live in over a dozen countries.https://t.co/iNVQlVQ5C2https://t.co/n9rKnrHovE
